Magikal Journey is a quick introduction to his smash-hit singles and includes all the classics from 1998-2008. The first disc consists of songs from his first 3 studio albums, while disc 2 features various remixes of Tiësto's tracks by other artists, such as Richard Durand and Bart Claessen. For me, the definitive Tiësto track is still his collaboration with Maxi Jazz (from Faithless) on ‘Dance4Life' - it has long been etched in my mind as a dance and party anthem.
Whilst listening to both CD's you can feel how Tiësto creates that big trance atmosphere with his songs, transferring these huge live performance tunes to a CD is no easy task, but he does it well.
Overall it's a pretty amazing collection of trance songs from Tësto, on this his first "greatest hits" sort of album, and I doubt it will be his last with his 2009 album Kaleidoscope receiving rave reviews. Tiesto shows he is still one of the biggest DJ's in the world, still after over 20 years in the business.
Perfect for the gym or a party . . .
