You may wish to think about these options before you decide to hire a campervan and drive around Australia or New Zealand or even get on a plane for that matter!

Option A:

Leave all the curtains open when your campervan is parked up.
Disadvantages: allows crooks/robbers/thieves/low-life scumbags to check out what items you have inside, before deciding whether to rob you. Gives them an opportunity to window shop before smashing and grabbing.
Advantages: Means any unwelcome guests can be spotted as such by passing pedestrians, thus meaning little or no time in van to look for hidden items, i.e. passports, tickets and wallets.

Option B:
Shut all the curtains in your campervan.
Disadvantages: meaning anyone that does break in has all the time in the world to find what their looking for, with only a small risk of getting caught by pedestrians.
Advantages: Makes crooks/robbers/thieves, low-life scumbags think twice about whether it's worth the risk of breaking into your  campervan or not - or whether you are in it or not.

Option C:
Never leave your campervan
Disadvantages: You'll never get to enjoy things this great country has to offer, and it means the crooks/robbers/thieves/low-life scumbags have won, as they have spoilt your life just because they can't do anything worthwhile with their's!
Advantages: You don't get stuff nicked!

Option D:
Don't travel
Disadvantages: You get to stay in sunny Blighty all year round, working like a dog, and with as much chance of getting burgled as the rest of us!
Advantages: There is none, travelling is worth the risk!

Basically the only travel tips I can give are in hindsight, but who bloody invented hindsight, why couldn't humans have the ability for fore-sight!
