Now if you are the type that likes to cross massive areas of desert then Dalhousie Springs may just be an area that you find yourself in. Located on the western edge of the Simpson Desert many fearless travellers have found themselves starting their journeys at Dalhousie springs. While here you will find the Outback Station Homestead which offers basic camping facilities and a general store where you can purchase supplies for your trek across the Simpson Desert. Did we mention that this same store also has a 24 hour liquor license? That's right! So no worries, you can get piss drunk if you need a bit of liquid courage before crossing the desert. Just be sure to pack some extra gin when your buzz wears off about half way through the journey.
