Britain's worst ever learner driver has been uncovered in Leicester after failing his test a staggering 92 times... without even getting into a car. The 28-year-old, who has not been named but who we assume is a woman, keeps flunking the hour-long piece of piss theory test, which includes basic multiple-choice questions about road rules, plus a hazard-perception test. And seeing as it costs £31 to take the test, the price of ineptitude has been totalled up to £2,852. Another bloke, also from Leicester, failed his practical test 22 times before passing - that's £1,650 for the privilege of being told you're adequate at reversing around corners. So the moral of the story is, be extra careful for shit drivers if you ever go to the East Midlands. Not that you'd ever willingly go there anyway.

Some people are getting excited a bout the upcoming 2012 London Olympic Games. Others though, are becoming worried about their travel arrangements.
With the huge sporting events taking place all over the country will come huge amounts of traffic.
Luckily the folks at Transport For London have put together a site at GetAheadOfTheGames.com to ease the pressure for wary travellers.
The site features:
- An interactive map showing the impact on travel
- Details of key affected stations
- Information on the Games lanes, the Olympic Route Network (ORN), the Paralympic Road Network (PRN) and how road restrictions may affect you
- Days and times of events
- Travel tips to help you get around in London
There are guides for getting around, tips on ways to save a bit of cash on fares and advice for local business owners who might be affected by the busy season.
It looks like BoJo has put his heart into this, so if you're someone who thinks they might be affected by the Olympics (or Paralympics) then give it a look over.

Battle Of The Sexes Round 1: Parking |
|
To all men who love to rub it in that women are dodgy parkers and men are better, you could be proved wrong according to latest statistics. Stats show that women are in fact BETTER at parking than men (gasp!). After all those years of mocking, the men have been proved wrong.
Surveys show that while women take longer to park, they are the most likely to leave their car in the middle of the bay as well as using the correct technique to park their cars. I would love to go through with you the correct procedure of parking your car perfectly, but as a man myself I’m sure my advice wouldn’t be useful according to stats.
Women have an average parking coefficient score of 13.4, whereas the men’s average score is 12.3. However women average 21 seconds to park, whereas men have an average of 16 seconds. This statistic links in to how impatient men are and is part of the reason why women, who take longer and are more patient, get in the middle of the bay more regularly. I’d like to see a celebrity park off to determine the winner. Bruce Forsythe is the host and we get two celebrities to park against each other. The winner gets to drive Bruce to the old folk’s home.

The Big Freeze: 30th Jan – When It Decides To Get Warm Again |
|
Grab Your Uggs and Thermostats folks, as the Big Freeze is back this week with a massive impact on the British Isles. This is turning into a music festival as The Big Freeze of 2011 caused anarchy to British transport, companies and schools being shut down on numerous occasions throughout that cold spell. This week, the cold streak is set to come back as low as -10 degrees as snow starts to hit the UK today. Workers beware that last year train and bus services stopped running for several days due to the severe weather causing the roads and railway lines frozen over, with road grit not being enough to keep the snow from falling.
Parts of Wales and Hampshire have already seen snow fall overnight on Sunday evening and it is expected that the freezing temperatures will last until Thursday. Get yourselves to Homebase and B&Q for your annual Snow Shovels if you haven’t kept yours from last year as a souvenir.
It is thought that the Eastern side of England, as well as London, will be hit the heaviest, but down South we treat Snow Day how the North treat summer; a rare happy day that we can celebrate something unusual.

Coach Driver Couldn’t Handle A Joke, Let Alone A Coach |
|
You know how it feels when you’re on a school coach journey and you see another coach nearby, you want to shout something like “honk your horn” or “your gay”, or even nowadays they say “you fat bastard!” Coach driver Colin Scott didn’t take that too well, as a group of school kids shouted fat jokes at Scott, also shouting to him “is your wife fat as well?” Scott clearly either doesn’t go to a gym or is self-conscious and when the kids continued hurling abuse from the sidewalks, he continuously swerved towards them and ended up crashing the coach into a heap of traffic, causing £260,000 worth of damage. After all that, he still didn’t hit the kids!
Nick Henderson, a John Lewis employee, read out a statement in court stating "I shouted at the driver to stop when he hit buildings. He only stopped when a road sign came through the windscreen and I was thrown to the floor." Witnesses said Scott lost his mind and became hell bent on revenge. His revenge caused a 6 car pile-up and three buildings damaged severely. And he STILL didn’t hit the kids!
Scott has now been disqualified from driving for three years and has to do 200 hours of unpaid work as well as a hefty fine. If I was those kids now, I’d be shitting myself if his unpaid work is as a teacher at their school. I’m sure Mr Scott would be happily to volunteer 24 hours a day for that.
