Adelaide has a fairly warm Meditteranean type climate, which means mild wet winters and dry hot summers; this is one of Australia' s great wine growing regions. It was settled by free settlers as opposed to indentured labor and criminals from Britain, and as such this city has a bit of a sophisticated atmosphere.
