England Flop to Pakistan Whitewash

England Flop to Pakistan WhitewashWe already knew we won the series, but we at least thought as we were number one in the world we could get one game in this three game series against Pakistan. But once again the world rankings lie, as England slumped to their 7th Whitewash in history against a Pakistan side who looked back to winning ways against a below par England side. In all fairness, Pakistan's bowling was brilliant and Azhar Ali and Younus Khan formed a phenominal batting partnership to get 157 and 127 respectively, but England couldn't match their opponents as they were bowled all out for 252 in their 2nd Innings after gaining the upper hand in the 1st Innings.

Umar Gul got a fantastic score of 4-61 to spin England right out of control, and Saeed Ajmal got another brilliant score of 4-67 as he showed resistant Alastair Cook (49) that he took no prisoners. Cook and Pietersen looked promising showing several good shots before both being bowled out, and from then on apart from a good innings from Morgan (31) and Prior (49) England looked out of their depth and Pakistan proved that they should be up at the top looking down at the English as the best in the world. And after their brilliant performance no one could blame them for going for it.
