Single Review: Swedish House Mafia Vs Knife Party, 'Antidote' |
 It's the start of 2012, electro-house is as popular and as fashionable as deck shoes with a top-buttoned shirt- and this track fully takes advantage of that. If you are into your electro house with a dab of vocals and a tickle of dietary dubstep then you will probably wanna crank this track louder. However, the Swedish House Mafia trio just do not seem to be producing to the quality of tracks that they were doing a few years back. This tune seems as memorable as every other electro-house track, which is falling through the skies on a constant loop of commercial radio.
This track isn't a complete flop, there are some good drops throughout the entirety and there are some points where Knife Party's Pendulum roots do shine through and the party kicks off. Combined with some hint of the distinctive twang of the Mafia, the record does have some scope to be a good club track. The dubstep is obviously tamed down for commercial ears but that's to be expected of both of these artists. The vocals and lyrics aren't much of an interest to the rest of the track, maybe an antidote from a previous track of theirs was the cause for the song. At least a dab of Dub makes the track a little chunkier. Gone are the days of the production of Swedish House Mafia's ridiculously catchy house tracks. And what a damn shame that is.
