Newtown are definitely making the most out of Good Food Month, as on Sunday 13th October 2013 the people of Newtown are hosting a Good Food Fair which will showcase their fabulous local produce and more, transforming its streets into a food haven. The festival will honor Newtown’s rich culinary culture as it explores the community’s best eateries as they show off some of their signature dishes at street food prices. All the money that is raised will go towards the Newtown Community Centre, so it’s for a good local cause.
The community is proud of its open-mindedness toward food from across the globe as well as its local produce. Numerous good quality restaurants have sprung up all over the place in Newtown recently such as Miss Peaches, The Animal at the Newtown Hotel, Suzy Spoon’s Vegetarian Butcher and Bloodwood. There is also an array of restaurants that have been nestled in Newtown for years which are to a bragging standard; these include Mad Pizza e Bar, Kuki Tanuki, Rubyos, Twelve, Coopers Hotel and the WaterHorse Small Bar.
So expect a multitude of local to global street food, all set to a high quality standard, and all at a cost that will be sure to put a smile on your face. The festival will take place from 11am-4pm. Everybody is welcome, so go and join in the food party of the month in Newtown this October!
