SOUTH WEST ROCKS IS HOME TO ONE OF THE BEST DIVE SITES IN AUSTRALIA.

Fish Rock Cave is our best known and most popular dive site but the Cave is just the beginning of the great diving around South West Rocks. The surrounds of Fish Rock offer some spectacular dives and opportunities to view the abundant marine life that congregates around the Rock.

South West Rocks is one of the closest points to the continental shelf, with superb visibility and water temperature that is good all year round. Average visibility is around 15-20 metres (25-30m is not unusual), and you can expect the water to be 18-20° in winter, and around a balmy 24-25° in summer.

GREY NURSE SHARKS AND HUMPBACK WHALES...

In South West Rocks you will find a diverse range of marine life such as the Grey Nurse Shark. The Grey Nurse is an ancient and docile species, but unfortunately is rare and endangered. Fish Rock is one of the few diving sites in Australia where Grey Nurse Sharks can be found all year round. During winter time you will also find Humpback Whales passing though. Imagine watching the sharks cruise around the gutters at Fish Rock with whales singing in the background - an experience not to be missed!
