UFC - Jones Chokes Out Machida |
UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones continued his amazing year with victory over Lyoto Machida at UFC 140 in Toronto.Machida won the first round by doing his usual shtick of hanging back, circling, and picking shots as his opponent rushes in; however, in the second, Jones took control. The champion shot in to take Machida down before landing an elbow which opened up a cut on the Brazilian's forehead - causing referee John McCarthy to call time-out for the ringside doctor to examine the cut - and a Jones victory was inevitable from then on. Pressing Machida against the cage, Jones managed to lock on a standing guillotine choke and finish the fight as McCarthy broke the fighters up and Machida crumpled to the canvas like a rapidly deflating bouncy castle. Earlier in the night heavyweight Frank Mir defeated Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira after locking on a kimura and breaking Nogueira's arm. Youtube it!
